1st Week of School!

I can't believe that I have a 1st & 4th grader this year!  Geez where has the time gone!!!  I have a position in the PTA again this year, I am parlimitarian and I am hoping to be room mom again but this year in Ricky's class.  We are looking forward to a smooth year.
This is Eevie's last year at ESE and then she will be going off to Intermediate school as a 5th grader :(  So I plan to cherish every single day left for her here as a elementary student.
Here are a few photos of the first day of school:

2011-2012 School Year

Eevie is in 4th Grade this year!
Ricky is in 1st Grade this year!

I just want to leave you with this funny picture of the boys!  Our next door neighbor's dad gave the kids some really neat umbrella hats!  They love them and wear them all the time.  Who needs a umbrella anyway... We are on our 64th day of 100+ degree weather and we have only had like 1 day of rain.

So far the first week of school went pretty well, we are still trying to adjust to getting back on schedule.  JC starts preschool next week at his new school and he will be attending on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2.  We met his teachers yesterday and he seems to really like it.  He said "bye mom see ya later!"  It was so incredibly cute!!! Hopefully he does that well when I take him and drop him off on Tuesday.

4th of July

This post is a little late, but better late than never!  4th of July was so amazing this year!  I don't talk about our church nearly enough...but we go to a AWESOME church.  They have a great kids program, as well as an unbelievable staff!  Our pastor is such a friendly person.  But anyway, for 4th of July they had a huge celebration.  There was free food, bounce houses, a petting zoo, snow cones, live music, and too many other things to lists.  But it ended with a wonderful perfect firework show put on by the city of Mansfield.  Our family had such a good time and I was so happy that Rick was home.  They are always putting stuff together for their congregation and they never ask for anything in return.  It makes me want to give back and donate and volunteer so much more when I see that kind of willingness to give to us without ever asking for anything.  Anyway while we were there at the celebration we just looked at each other and said how much we love our church.  We say that after each Sunday that we go to a service feeling full of love and happiness.  We are so happy that we finally found a church home that we all feel is a perfect fit.  The kids love it and so do Rick and I.

Kindergarten Graduation & Baseball Awards

Kindergarten Graduation was bittersweet. I just can't believe that Ricky is going into first grade in just a few more weeks. Where did the time go?
Leaving the stage, it was so jam packed in the auditorium that I just couldn't get very many photos.
Ricky and his teacher Mrs. Aan. I just love Mrs. Aan. I am praying that we get her when JC comes through Kindergarten. And if we have anymore babies or adopt any children I hope that they get Mrs. Aan too! Eevie had her and if I find the photo of them I will post it later. She is such a wonderful teacher! I can not say enough great things about her!
This was Ricky's LAST season of T-Ball. Now he is on to Coach pitch. This was a transitional year for him. Here he is with his coach. Coach Kyle
His team after recieving their trophies! I love this about that age, they love getting thier trophies :)

Rangers Field Trip & Rangers Reading Resteraunt

Well, I guess I will talk about the Rangers Reading Resteraunt first! This was the cutest thing, we all came into Eevie's 3rd grade class and they gave us a story menu and we picked the stories that we wanted them to read and they read the stories that they wrote to us. It was so cute. Me and Rick and little JC loved it! Here are a few pictures:
For Eevie's 3rd grade field trip we went to the Texas Rangers Stadium! It would have been a great field trip....Well, maybe. If it wasn't a game day! There were a few things we didn't get to see 1 including the Locker room! Plus my poor Eevie girl wasn't feeling that great! She had a headache that didn't go away even with some aspirin. Hopefully she doesn't get her momma's migraines. It was a very VERY boring field trip. Here are a few pictures from our field trip. (Warning, they are boring too)

May

May was a busy month for us...but then again, what month isn't! We had Field Day at school and The Science Fair! Both Kids had a great time at Field Day. I didn't get a lot of pictures because I didn't realize that I only had a small memory card until I got to the school, and by then it was too late to turn around to go back home to get a bigger one. Ricky pulling for dear life...but his class lost :(
Ricky and some of his classmates! Plus his best friend Owen.
Eevie & Some of her classmates.
Ricky with his science fair project! His project was "which gets yucky first?" He put 3 pieces of fruit out on the counter for a week and monitored the progress to see which one spoiled first. He did all the expirement himself, I wrote the notes, then typed them up and decorated the board. At the end of the project he felt the orange and said eww this one feels the yuckiest, because it is all squishy! And he said the banana looks the yuckiest because it is brown, and the apple...well, it looks just fine! LOL, and then we opened up all the fruit and everything tasted delicious. So he put that in the project.
Well he ended up winning 3rd place out of the whole entire 3rd grade! We were so incredibly proud of him!!! He is such a smart kid. :)
Eevie's Science fair project was does Miracle Gro really work. She planted one flower and used the miracle gro fertilizer and didn't use it with the other, she took pictures and monitored the progress. She did all the notes and I typed everything up and glued it on the board. She didn't win any awards, but she made a 100 and worked very hard and it paid off with the PERFECT score! We are very proud of her too! We have super smart kiddos!!!

Easter

It was a quiet Easter this year... We missed church (my fault) I have been suffering a migraine for about 3 days and I overslept. I thought about going to Easter service on Saturday night, but I didn't and then I ended up missing church. Rick worked at the firestation so me and the kids did our Easter activities without him this year. We had our Easter Egg hunt in the backyard, and decorated Easter Eggs! Even JC decorated eggs, by putting stickers on them. And then we went to my parents house for dinner. It was a nice weekend. We also talked about what Easter REALLY means. That Jesus was crucified on the cross for our sins, and on the third day he rose. His tomb was empty. I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter too!
