Thomas the train

(I LOVE THOMAS!!!)
Anyone who knows Little Ricky, knows that he is absolutely OBSESSED with Trains (Especially Thomas)! So for a special surprise we treated him out to a day with Thomas. Rick took off a day from work and we headed off to the grapevine historical train station for our chance to ride a train pulled by Thomas himself! Well... the whole 45 minute ride to grapevine he watched his Thomas and Friends DVD. (Even shushing Rick & I every once and awhile) When we finally arrived and turned off the movie he began to look out his window, when long behold THERE WAS THOMAS!!! He was SO excited!!! "THOMAS THE TRAIN!!!" "WHOO HOO!!!" "I WANNA GO! I WANNA GO!" "I WANT TO RIDE THE THOMAS TRAIN" Is all we heard for at least 5 minutes as we unpacked and got ready for a day out on the grounds they had set up for this special activity. He could barely contain himself as he bounced around waving and screaming at Thomas.
(This is the view he saw from the window)
Rick was such a good sport throughout the day! I think we were just as excited as Ricky to see Thomas! It was amazing to see a life size replica. We met up with a close friend who has a son that is best buds with Ricky. Between the both of them the excitement was through the roof. There were a lot of people there. Thomas was scheduled to run at a lot of different times during the day. When we first got there it was about 10:45am and our train wasn't scheduled until 1:00pm, but our kids don't know the concept of time yet, so when they saw Thomas leaving without them... They were almost in tears. (Look at picture above) So Rick made up a story about how Thomas had to go get some lunch and he will be back in a little while. It just so happens that we were also leaving to get lunch and when we got back to the grounds, Thomas was back!
Lunch Break!!! Look how healthy your meal can be at McDonalds! (Apples, Chicken Nuggets, & Milk) Great Choice Ricky!!! Look Thomas is back!!!
When we got back Ricky said Thomas Came back!!! He's done eating.

We enjoyed some of the other activities they had on the grounds, Model trains, TONS & TONS of Thomas the train tables & toys, Coloring, bounce houses, storytelling, and movies. Then it was time for us to Board our train. The whole ride Ricky blew his little whistle and yelled "Go Thomas! Faster Thomas!" (I had made him a little Thomas the train goody bag for him to open on the train, it had a Thomas the train, fruit snacks, a train whistle, and another little snack) He loved the experience and it was great to see the happiness on his face!

Here is a picture of Ricky getting off the train, it was time to head home.

Eevie's Opening Ceremony
(My Friend Suzanna made this bow to match Eevie's Uniform!!!)
The only thing I can say about this picture is HOW CUTE!!! All of the girls were all dolled up in their uniforms for the opening ceremony (Eevie refused to wear her visor). MGSA (Mansfield Girls Softball Association) goes all out to make these girls have a grand opening to the season. They had free food and drinks, bounce houses & slides, pitching contests, karaoke, and tons of other fun-tastic stuff for the girls and their families to enjoy!

After 2 weeks of beautiful, sunny, 70-80 degree days, we got bombed with a cold front which brought in 50 degree weather, clouds, and misty rain. Of all days to have a cold front it had to be on the opening ceremony. We were cold but still all had a really good time! For the actual ceremony all the girls teams and their coaches, are introduced by a DJ and music and parade around the field chanting, cheering, and making all kinds of noise! It was amazing.

Lil' Mermaids 2008

Eevie's Opening Game

March 29, 2008

On three... 1...2...3...

"GO MERMAIDS!!!"

Well I have to say watching this softball game was a lot more entertaining then I thought it was going to be! The girls did really good. We witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly! LOL. We were really blessed to have the opportunity for all of our family to attend Eevie's first game. Granny, Pop Pop, Auntie Dawn, Auntie Cheryl, Auntie Jamie, and Uncle Curtis all watched and cheered on as the Lil' Mermaids played their booties off! It was a cold, nasty, cloudy day and they still had smiles on their faces. Even though they lost.

Eevie did a great job batting! Here they are waiting for this game to get started! They are all sitting in their batting order just waiting for their turn to smack the ball outta here! Eevie is #9!

Great Game Girls! And good sportsmanship!

Softball... To be continued...

Monday was Rick's Opening Game at Mansfield's "NEW" Big league field of dreams.
The field of dreams is a scaled down replica of major league stadiums. Rick played at Boston's Fenway Park. The field of dreams in Mansfield is the only one of its kind in Texas.

Rick started out the first inning out in right field, but then moved to second base where he made amazing play after play. He was pretty good at batting too. No home runs though, maybe next time.

We ended up winning the game 20-11. Here is all of the players having a prayer after the game.

Fort Worth Stockyards

This weekend we went out the Fort Worth Stockyards to enjoy the annual easter egg hunt and fesitivities. There were so many kids out there! As you can see in the picture it was a very bright and warm day. In almost every picture my kids are squinting. As we get to the location for our age group egg hunt, Ricky starts to get a little uneasy for this whole egg hunt thing. He starts telling us no he doesn't want to do it. But once we mentioned "Candy" he was all for it. Unfortunetly both of the kids got maybe 10-12 pieces of candy. When they said go all of the kids took off and took all of the candy. (There were just so many kids)

So after the egg hunt we took a little lunch break and headed back to enjoy some shopping, picture taking, and a little bit of sight seeing. Daddy just had to stop and try on Cowboy hats, Ricky just kept picking the same one sissy had! (Which by the way, was PINK!) On to the cattle pens... Our TEXAS LONGHORNS!!! Well... within the 5 min of looking at the cattle, I heard "MOM" about 20 times, got almost no clear pictures, and Ricky fell off a step flat on his face! Thank goodness Rick was with me because it was a long day! To top it off, as we were enjoying our time looking at the cattle, Eevie decides it is time to point something out! "Hey Guys, Look at that BIG BALL OF POOP!" She proceeded to tell us nothing about the cattle and everything about the big ball of poop... KIDS!!! Rick is big into History. He likes to see all of those historical sites and when we go places like the zoo or museums, he reads all of those little signs and such. I am not to big on historical information. I like to just go and enjoy the sites, food, and shopping. While we were there he did fill me in on some interesting information I must say. We talked about how the indians built some of the buildings, and the slaves built the cobblestone roads. It really makes me take a minute and appreciate the blessings that I have. We had a lovely time, and I can't be happier than when I spend time with my family.

Giddy Up Cowboys & Cowgirls Ride them Horses!

On Saturday we had the wonderful opportunity to go out to Woody's Ranch for a huge cookout! It was absolutely Amazing out there! We were on 68 Acres. There were horses and goats, and quite a few dogs. The whole way to the ranch (approximently 1hr 45min) Eevie talked about how she is going to ride the horses, pet the horses, and brush the horses. We get to the ranch and she quickly changes her mind! When it is finally her turn to get on a horse, or pet a horse she says "Ummm, I think I will just look from over here." (Which was about 10 feet away from the horses!) Finally after I bribed her so I could at least get a picture she got on a horse... But just for a second. Ricky quickly took the opportunity to interact with every horse he could get near. We had to make sure that he didn't get too close, we didn't want any injurys. We had so much fun out there, and it was so peaceful. Woody's daughter is a championship barrel racer, and they horseback ride all the time; Tons of people who were visiting for the cookout brought their horses. Everyone there were figherfighters and police officers and their kiddos. The kids lassoed each other (oh, and Rick too!) and rode a golf cart, which had a HEMI engine! (Talk about POWER!) As the day came to an end, Ricky decided that it would be best if he stuffed as much sugar into him as possible because at home mommy and daddy don't give him much, so he ate a cupcake and took a handful of frosting off as many of the others as he could before someone saw him. To end the day off with a word from the wise... As we were walking to the van, we passed a few horses. Eevie thinks this will be a good time for some of her valuable information... "Mom & Dad, I know that is a girl horse and that is a boy horse" Me & Rick "Oh, really? How do you know for sure that 1 is a girl & 1 is a boy?" (Thinking she saw the difference of anatomy) Eevie "Well... 1 has a pink rope and the other doesn't!" Like duh guys didn't you know! LOL

Let's Get Current

Well... this is my first ever "Blog". I have done newsletters in the past, but this is supposedly easy and fast, so we'll see how it goes. I will be posting probably once a week, so check back often for updates!
Jan.2008-Every year I suprise Rick with something completely unexpected for his birthday, well this year instead of taking a fancy trip (like last year) we had a birthday celebration with some friends at a place called Texas Roadhouse. They made him ride a saddle to the tune of their happy birthday chant! That is the Grand Ole Texas Way! (And Yes, he turned really red!!!)
Feb.2008-We really just relaxed most of Feb. We Celebrated our Anniversery and Valentine's by going out to Red Lobster. The kids were extremely busy with party after party. They both did their Valentine's Day Party, we are at a birthday party almost every weekend lately! Rrrr... Parties!!!
March 2008- So far March has been busy. Eevie started playing softball. She hasn't had a game yet, but loves it! She is playing on the "Lil' Mermaids". Ricky has learned a new trick... Yelling "Whoo hooo", like he is at a football game! I told him we were going to granny's house, and he yelled that out in the middle of Academy! I will post some pictures of Eevie's softball soon. Rick will be playing softball this spring also. He will be playing on our churches men softball team. I am sure it will be exciting to watch! Ricky & Eevie will be starting Gymnastics this spring. Momma will be busy running around to all the practices, classes, and games! We are all looking forward to spring break, maybe we can kick back and relax. Ya right. LOL, I will be posting more pictures soon!!! Have a blessed week!
